FOLK DRESS
Gorgeous handmade Norwegian folk dress from roughly 1930s. This piece features a black wool skirt that is pleated below the chest and a vest like embroidered top, also made of wool. There is traditional Hallingdal floral embroidery on the front and back of the top of the dress. The same type of embroidery is around the bottom hem of the dress. There is an apron hand sewn on the front of the dress that's made of black fabric printed with red and pink roses. There is also a wool waistband right above the apron with traditional Hallingdal floral embroidery. Similar pieces have been seen in museums like the MET. Such a stunning piece of history!
